The Piper family has a long history of engineering starting with Managing Director, Chris Piper who has a solid grounding in aerospace engineering from his days as a de-Havilland Apprentice. Chris went on to found CKT Engineering in 2000 having identified a potential market for high quality light aircraft exhaust systems. Having secured their initial order from a popular light aircraft manufacturer the company has now become a leading specialist in both the design and manufacture of high quality aircraft exhaust systems for many international light aircraft manufactures.
Today the company has expanded its services and offers its customers a range of capabilities including the manufacture of tubular fabrications, sub-assemblies, bracketry, and similar products in Nickel Chrome Alloys, Titanium, Aluminium Alloys, 4130 and standard steels. The company has grown and developed a multi-skilled team, including its specialist certified welders approved to BS EN ISO 15614 2004+A2 2012 and CAA approved to BCAR A8-10, who produce welded and fabricated aircraft structures, exhaust components and systems. The company is able to work with tubular products with mandrel bending facilities, from 19 to 76mm diameter; one "D" bending being a speciality.
