Exhausts for Aero Engines

Especially for aero engines the CKT design group has devised and applied innovative engineering solutions required to satisfy the demanding standards of the aerospace industry.

CKT are now the leading specialists in the design and provision of exhaust systems for Rotax 912 series engines for light aircraft. Typically the systems incorporate a silencer and optionally a heat exchanger take-off for cabin heating. These systems satisfy the stringent noise standards applicable in Germany and other European countries..

CAA Welding Standards

The production team at CKT has special expertise in nickel chrome, "chrome-moly steel" and aluminium alloy fabrication and retains CAA certification for fusion welding to four standards.

Company Profile

Originally Chris Piper, founder and principal of CKT, trained as an engineer with the de Havilland Engine Company at Leavesden, Hertfordshire the then industry leaders for gas turbines and rocket motors. The knowledge and experience gained has been put to good use for the development and manufacture of aircraft exhausts and components.

His industrial career has concentrated on the manufacture of lightweight precision fabrications involving automated fusion welding processes. A multi-skilled and enthusiastic production team, recruited and trained over the last few years, supports Chris' design and development work.

Remos Aircraft GmbH, Bavaria commissioned CKT to design and develop this prototype, which includes a exchanger for cabin heating, for the Mirage G3 light aircraft. The system satisfies the strict noise level requirements demanded in Germany.
